Vónin, a global major developer and manufacturer of high quality fishing gear and aquaculture equipment, was looking to improve the trawl sorting grids they had supplied for many years. They wanted a new design that could fish more optimally, have better durability and required less maintenance.

We developed a new design built with plastic and composite materials that were much lighter yet sturdier and able to resist the constant bumps and stresses in a hectic environment on the trawler deck and at the seabed. It also requires less maintenance and is easier to attach to the trawl. On top of this, the enhanced grid design increases the catch efficiency. We developed sorting grids for shrimp trawls, and are now developing cod trawls, and pelagic trawls.
